Carcy Magazine

Carcy Magazine

With a shared belief in creative reinvention, the highly-regarded cult fashion magazine CARCY and biomaterials maker MycoWorks collaborated on a multifaceted project based on the theme of the chimera — a hybrid animal of mythical origins that holds the promise of alternate futures.

Editorial Collaboration

“Emerging from the dreams of a bunch of artists in San Francisco who sought to turn a simple material into a solution for the future of design.” – CARCY Magazine

CARCY drew upon the creative kinship it discovered in MycoWorks for its twelfth biannual issue. Sheathed in a cover made of its mycelium leather, the magazine detailed MycoWorks’ artistic origins in California, and included a photo editorial previewing a samurai suit made with mycelium for the celebrated dancer of the Paris Ballet Opera, Marie-Agnès Gillot. I led MycoWorks’ social media campaign, capitalizing on this coveted association for the company by leveraging CARCY’s spectacular editorial aesthetics across a wide range of content.

Paris Launch Event

“It is very important for me to offer love and embrace our community. It was the perfect way to celebrate this beautiful collaboration.” – Stèphane Carcy

The collaboration was launched in Paris amidst an environment of mycelium sculptures and visuals made by MycoWorks Creative Studio. We welcomed the local creative community into a world of fashion, eroticism and performance, fostering a spirit of artistic experimentation for the MycoWorks brand, from the vibrant streets of the 11th arrondissement to the social feeds of Paris’ creative class.
