Reishi™ was born from a pursuit of beauty. Invented by two artists in San Francisco, its countless technical innovations served this chief purpose: to create a material out of fungi that met the world’s highest aesthetic standards. What resulted is a textile that sparks wonder in everyone who feels it for the first time.

With visuals crafted by outstanding creative practitioners across fashion, art, and filmmaking, our campaigns built a brand that excited creative leaders around the world and propelled MycoWorks to the top of the biomaterials industry.


This Is Not Leather

Alternative leathers have an unfortunate reputation. Typically made of plastic, customers have historically rejected these options for their uncomfortable feel and drape. With it’s supple and luxurious feel, we sought to separate Reishi™ as a new category of material — visually familiar, but fundamentally different.


Luxury Fabrication with Reishi™

The fabrication of luxury goods requires special techniques that destroy typical leather alternatives. To prove Reishi’s ability to withstand those demanding methods, I filmed a former Hermès Master Leather Artisan using Reishi to execute the same leathercraft techniques used to make some of the finest luxury items in the world.

Reishi’s tactile beauty is backed by unprecedented strength and durability metrics. But we needed more than lab data to excite MycoWorks’ fashion & design clients, so we filmed a beautiful demonstration of this technical achievement in action.


E-Commerce

With large commercial orders already secured, we built an e-commerce operation to target small to mid-sized design businesses seeking the best in sustainable, non-animal materials. I created social media ads and worked with SEO experts and fashion/design-oriented translators to launch direct sales in domestic and international markets.
